Kindergarten EL  

Here you will find what the Kindergarteners are doing in EL class each month. 

August

1.      Listen with limited participation in short conversations about familiar topics.
2.     Communicate simple informational/feelings about familiar topics/experiences.
3.     Recognize and identify letter names
4.     Distinguish between letters from shapes, numbers & words
5.     Learn essential vocabulary related to school and self
6.     Respond to simple yes/no questions about familiar topics
7.     Identify phonemes
8.     Understand and respond to simple questions

About the Teacher

Personal Info

I will be starting my 22 year of teaching and my 1st year as an EL teacher. I have taught kindergarten and 1st grade for the last 18 years with Desoto County Schools. I am excited to be in a new role as an EL teacher.

I attended Valdosta State University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I have a Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a Specialist Degree in Reading. I also have my English as a Second Language Endorsement. I am a National Board Certified teacher as well. 

I have 4 grown children along with one granddaughter and 2 granddaughters on the way.
