About the Teacher

I am privileged to serve our English Learners at Shadow Oaks Elementary School!  I am passionate about growing their language skills and helping them to achieve academic success.

My background experience includes work in the areas of communication, business, and technology.  Although these have been fascinating and exciting professions, my experience as a teacher has, by far, been the most rewarding!

Previously, I worked for over twenty years in the field of Information Technology as a software developer for large corporations, such as Caterpillar, Maybelline, First Tennessee Bank, and FedEx.  In 2012, I decided to transition to a career in teaching, in order to make a difference in the lives of children who face difficulties, disadvantages, and deficits in this ever-changing world and increasingly diverse country.  In 2014, I received my master’s degree from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS.  I am certified to teach English as a Second Language, as well as Business Education.

I look forward to making meaningful and lifelong connections with all of my beautiful students this school year!
