Dr. Rachel Robertson

EL Teacher, Pleasant Hill Elementary

Welcome to Our Class!

I am so very excited to be part of the fabulous EL department! I know this year is extremely unusual, but it will still be a GREAT year.  We have lots to learn together.  Whether students are with me each day face-to-face, or whether they are with me virtually, they are all important to me! We will be successful!

Below you will find some great resources to help your child as he or she works toward English proficiency:

Please feel free to contact me with any problems or concerns as we work together to help your child be as successful as possible!

About the Teacher

Education and Experience: I am originally from Cleveland, MS, and I attended Delta State University for my Bachelors, Masters, Specialist, and Doctorate degrees. I have been teaching in Desoto county for over 20 years.  As a Desoto County teacher, I have taught kindergarten, first grade and third grade.  Most recently, I have been teaching students at Delta State University who are majoring in Elementary Education. I am now back in DCS and thrilled to be part of the English Learners department. This is a fabulous place to teach!  I love it here, and I hope to make every day a GREAT day for your child!

Personal Information: I am married with three children who all graduated from Desoto County Schools. My husband and I love family time, and cruising is one of our favorite things to do.  We love to explore new places. Just like each of us, we are ready to get back to "normal", so we can enjoy all of the things we love!

This year will be challenging, but we will make it work together!  Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you anytime!
